Erica Keswin is concerned about the wait list. The Spaghetti Project is still less than a year old, but the events have been hitting maximum capacity, and the waiting lists are getting longer. She could start looking at bigger venues, but that could impact the connections she wants to create among her audience.
Keswin has been working to better connect people for years, traveling the country gathering and sharing her research at companies from Starbucks to the NFL. I remember when she first starting talking about this exciting new venture about a year ago on one of our central park walks in New York City. I had already been blown-away by her ability to cut through the clutter of daily life, and hone in on what matters. In fact she was kind enough to contribute her insights to "How to be a Financial Grownup" and explain how honoring relationships positively impacts our financial well being.
The Spaghetti Project was inspired by a 2015 Cornell study showing that firemen who eat together are better at their jobs. In a nod to the firemen and their go-to firehouse meal, she calls her work The Spaghetti Project. And yes, she serves the classic at her gatherings.
I was honored to be part of her launch event last fall, and continue to work with her and The Spaghetti Project team to bring together meaningful gatherings. I hope you will join us at one soon. Just make sure you RSVP ASAP.
